The Perfect Timing of Steve Lacy's The Lofis
Creativity is found is the simplest form of expression. Not simple to the point where everything is surface level but enough to enjoy yourself and the journey that really doesn’t have a deeper meaning to it.

ENJOY THE ABLITY TO CREATE
One thing you can always take away from listening to Steve Lacy‘s music is that both uniqueness and a high form of creativity is not always seen through complex sounds or complex beats or even through the subtle lyrics. Music doesn't always have to move the audience ears in so many ways in order to be beautiful and I think that The Lofis in particular is something that is like no other. Steve Lacy's production is very unique in itself and can be descibed to have a a mixture of rnb and funk while also carrying some alternative indie elements from time to time. Even when knowing this it still wouldn't make a difference and I think that because of how simple a lot of beats are you are coxing through this able and experiencing the highs and lows in quick digestable bites. When you come into The Lofis you are here for one thing and one thing only, to listen and enjoy. It’s short. It’s sweet. It gets straight to the point and that’s why I think that there is a hard hitting message about being a creative or artist, and that is to make art that doesn't need to be explained in further detail just do it.
Anytime I listen to this album I’m reminded that there isn’t a cost to creativity, especially when you are confident in what you make.
