In January, my mom and I went to see Hamnet.

By the ending a woman behind us started sobbing, loudly.

Maybe she just enjoyed the movie a lot, but on the walk back to the car my mom said “I started to believe she had lost a child too.” 

Her cries began to feel like part of the movie, and I started to hold back tears too.

…But next door was showing Marty Supreme, so we all quickly came out of it.
