Soul Station Feature: Dave Lewis

Dave Lewis was a rock and r&b trendsetter in the Pacific NW, having an influence on that scene from the late 1950s into the mid 1960s. He only had minor national hits, but his music was very influential on a wide number of Seattle (and places elsewhere) bands. Like his much earlier Dave's Mood, JAJ was a very popular song by him even though it seems to have been recorded first by other bands: the Dynamics and Kingsmen. It is a hip hugging groove of organ, guitar and drums, which was the trio format Lewis favored for much of the early and mid 1960s. This comes from one of his last recordings, a 1968 album.
