Episode 0: It Begins

From the Bedroom Remixed with the Guys from Marie's Pizza and 4th of July Fireworks...

(An acoustic delight for listeners of all ages!)

About seven years ago, my husband, Zack, and I started thinking about starting a company called Wholesome. It was orginally a punk rock fanzine published by our friend, Dave Rucins, on black and white photo copies mailed in manilla envelopes to other Chicago suburban high schoolers. Zack is a musician who appreciates Selective collaboration and was enthrolled with the iPhone, so he decided to turn it into an app.

Flash forward to today, we still don't have the app (we're working on it and have a beta version of our radio app). What we do have is a community and collection of freaks, weirdos, misfits, and troublemakers. After the 100th time of saying, "we should be recording this," we have finally gotten our acts together to share our lives with you. From blog and photo posts to radio shows and podcasts, we are a bunch of people with strong, often irreverent, opinions who aren't afraid to share them. Our careers (music, education, tech) and expertise range, but we all share a love for listening, experiencing, and talking about music and culture surrounding music.

In Episode 0, you're diving right into our dinner on a Friday night at Marie's Pizza, when the Gino Fontine Strolling Trio was playing at our table, remixed with one of our Sunday morning conversations, sitting on the bed between Zack and I. This episode was recorded on an iPhone 6 using the AudioShare app. It intended to be nice to listend to, but now that the conversation is not very edited. Expect something random, and not very fancy, as we talk about something other than work and obligations. There are plans to share more of these field moments with you, as well as more well produced conversations with our friends. Whether at our radio station slash recording studio in Belmont Gardens, or in our Albany Park backyard, we are excited to share our lives with you. The world may not be ready for us yet, but we can't keep quiet any longer.

This is us: Stacy + Zack.
